Configuration
Resource Monitor™ is an administrative application that monitors and controls users' workstations. Information is gathered and reported to a database located on a server while the user is working. It is comprised of three components:
The Data Warehouse stores all of the reporting information collected by the monitoring client. You can use Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server Express or a Microsoft SQL Server database to retain the data collected by the monitoring client. The trial software utilizes an Access database.
- The Microsoft Access version runs on all local area networks, NT, Novell, Linux, Peer to Peer. This database is suitable for configurations under 25 seats/nodes. The installation program will install the Access database (no additional purchase required) and all necessary programs.
- The Microsoft SQL Server Express database is a free from Microsoft. The database is built from Microsoft's robust 2005 SQL Server database. It is scalable for configurations from 25 to 500 seats. Pre-installation of the SQL Server Express database is required. More information on SQL Server Express can be found at - MS SQL Server Express.
- The Microsoft SQL Server version requires an installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005. It is scalable for configurations from 25 to 10,000+ seats. Pre-installation of Microsoft SQL Server is required.
- A minimum of 10MB, per system, per month is an average disc space requirement. The amount of disc space required varies by the features enabled. More would be required if you intend to capture and retained screen shots and extended amounts of history.

The Administrative Client is installed on one or more workstations to review live and historical data stored in the Data Warehouse, control features and manages the database.
- Runs on all versions of Windows with a minimum of 128MB of RAM.
- Can be installed on one or multiple workstations.
The Monitoring Client is installed on PCs' connected to the server where the Data Warehouse is installed. The monitoring client reports information to the Data Warehouse.
- Runs on all versions of Windows with a minimum of 128MB of RAM.
- Clients run in stealth mode.
- The clients can be silently installed via a push installation. Please review FAQ for more information.
