Logon Security Monitoring and Tracking

Organizational security starts at the workstation level and Resource Monitor can help your organization stop security threats. If your organization is required to protect personal information as per HIPPA, GLBA, or Intellectual Property, trade secrets and financial information with Sarbanes-Oxley, this feature will complement your safeguards to meet those requirements.

By using the Logon Security feature, your users will be the front line security guards to alert your organization of possible threats. When this feature is enabled, a Pop Up screen will be displayed every time they logon to their system. If you chose not to display this screen, the logon history is available in the logon security reports and the monitoring client will run hidden in the background.

Password Protection:

Protecting passwords is a critical component to security but changing passwords at a predetermined times is not enough. Resource Monitor allows the user to view their prior logons to determine if their password has been jeopardized. The security screen displays their prior twenty logons including the system name and the logon time. If the user feels there was a possible security breach, they can alert the proper authorities by a simple click on an alert button.

Workstation Security:

Confidential information is naturally stored on desktop workstations. Knowing if another user has logged onto a workstation is an alert to a possible security breach. Resource Monitor allows the user to view the prior system logons to determine if an unauthorized person has used their workstation. The logon security screen displays a red warning signal if the last two user names do not match along with the prior twenty logons user names and logon time. If the user feels there was a possible security breach, they can alert the proper authorities by a simple click on an alert button.

Other Security Features within Resource Monitor:

If a security breach does occur, there are other useful features within the software to assist you with an investigation including:

  • Logon tracking to view how long an unauthorized person used the workstation
  • Software tracking to see what software was used and for how long
  • Screen shots to see what documents or screens that were used
  • Managing Microsoft's security updates to make sure all new security patches have been installed.
  • Using the daily shutdowns feature to turn off systems at night
  • Various reports to provide hard copy of monitored activity

The logon tracking program also calculates duration times to analyze computer and employee usage. Reports are also available to track a users history for every computer system that they performed a logon to enable a detailed or summary view of their usage.

Key Features:

  • Improve Security
  • Track computer utilization.
  • Lower maintenance costs by retiring low utilized systems.
  • Analyze user's time logged on to a workstation and the network.
  • Review unauthorized logons to other people's systems.
  • Monitor after hour usage.
  • Monitor users working hours.
