Monitoring Internet Usage
One of the most challenging problems facing organizations today is how to implement an Internet monitoring policy. Most enterprises perfer to allow employees to access the Internet, but all enterprises need to monitor users from abusing the Internet. Whether it's surfing the web, using Instant Messaging or emailing friends during work hours, Internet abuse is extremely costly to organizations.
Resource Monitor's Internet monitoring features allows an enterprise to create an Internet monitoring policy that conforms to their requirements. All of the Internet monitoring features can be enabled or disabled, by system, so it can be fine tuned. For example, you can select not to monitor specific systems while heavlly restricting others.

- No network changes, purchasing of appliances or servers to implement Internet Monitoring.
- Pages visited are grouped by category (Ex. Sexual, Violence, Sports, Employment, etc.).
- Allows you to click on a history line to "pop up" the URL visited by the user.
- Block or limit the use of a browser, instant messaging or email software with user identified time periods.
- Enable or disable Internet Monitoring by workstation.
- Select by workstation to block or filter URL's (requires Internet Explorer).

Additional Features for Internet Explorer Users:
- Filtering will scan a URL page for certain keywords and stop the page from displaying if the word is found. These keywords are categorized into ten groups and an administrator can decide whether a category should be filtered or not filtered.
- Blocking will stop a URL from being displayed. These URLs can be manually set up by viewing the websites history and clicking on a history line. When a history line is clicked, you'll have the option to allow or block the URL.
- Block All but Allowed will block all sites except for “Allowed URLs” that are entered into the URL database. If a site is blocked, the user is prompted if they desire to have the URL reviewed by an administrator. The administrator is presented with the users requests and can review these URLs and decide to add them to the “Allowed URL” database.
